Gisele for H&M…. and she’s singing!

Kate Moss, Carla Bruni, Cara Dele-everywhere and most recently Brazilian babe Gisele Bundchen are but a few who could be entitled ‘ Super-model Songstress’. Gisele, as well as modelling for H&M’s Autumn Winter campaign (Launching on September 12th) has released a cover of the Kinks’ classic All Day And All Of The Night which is available to download on iTunes with a percentage going to UNICEF.

RiRi take 2

Underwhelmed is the word I used to express my opinion of Rihanna’s debut collection for River Island and whilst my reaction to her second attempt is unsurprisingly similar, there are some pieces which could look nice, nay, stylish. RiRi’s design team have again focused on following trends for round two, (Who really wears crops on a daily basis, especially for an AW collection?! ). Yet, a camouflage print story has caught my eye, in particular the camoufalge leather pencil skirt  and there are some lovely editorial campaign pictures.
It’s doubtful Rihanna was wielding letraset pens or flexing her illustrator skills creating specs for this collaboration with high street retailer River Island but maybe her good name in place of design skills is enough to make this collection a hit?  It must be as she is about to collaborate with MAC make up for a second time as well. For me there is alot to be desired but who knows, maybe third time is a charm?

I.V.H Couture A/W 13-14

There are a few people I keep my eyes peeled for when the Couture shows start. And whilst I love the powerhouses of Chanel and Dior, brands like Alexis Mabille and Iris Van Herpen have really stolen the lead for intricate innovation so far.

GFW 2013

After work this Tuesday I swung by Graduate Fashion Week to take a look at; a.the great young talent on show and b.what I’m in store for with my own collection next year. PVC and transparency was an evident trend and standards were high. Even though it was late in the day the vast space at the Earls Court exhibition centre was bustling. The following are my pick of the best and the work that really stood out for me.

1. Katie Griffin – Fashion Marketing at Northumbria University.

2. Amy-Olivia Parish – Fashion Design at Norwich University of the Arts

Where I’m at

Red_CrossThe ultimate shit start to the week has struck and I’m in bed having a sick day from work. There’s not much in this world that annoys me more than being poorly (ain’t nobody got time for that!) so I’m making the most of today by catching up on some office work, blogging and organising my diary. I’ve been learning a tonne since starting this internship and thought it could be interesting to do a post on my typical day at the moment.

Last Friday for example….
In the evenings I write a list of the remaining to-dos on my list on a new page in my notebook (which is basically my life-line of work because a lot of the time you’re hit with a lot of details to remember and the only way i can do this is to write it down, it also helps because when i answer the phone and take a message, finding spare post it notes in the office is like finding a tutu wearing unicorn)
