Top of the Knots (-I’m so sorry)

top knot for blogThe topknot, or, last minute saviour for unwashed hair is one of my preferred looks for long days. The following are why i LOVE this look.

1. It takes seconds to achieve
2. Unwashed hair is easily disguised
3. All your hair is out if your face
4. If you can’t find a hair band, this updo can be created using pencils, thin rulers, a stick etc!
5. Great for travelling and exercising due to its sturdy nature
6. Gives a look of ‘I mean business’
7. Gets hot hair of your neck in warm weather/ stuffy room
8. Can be dressed up with braids or clips
9. Works for casual and smart looks
10. If you ‘topknot’ wet hair – you will get mermaidesque results when dry and released.

2 Ingredient Banana Pancakes

Yes, mesdames et monsieurs, you heard me correctly. You only need two ingredients to make this light and nutritious breakfast . I discovered  this recipe whilst lazing in bed fantasizing and about food and googling pretty breakfasts for inspiration (that’s normal, right?). When this recipe cropped up and with only two ingredients which I knew were in the kitchen, it was a must try.

Ingredients: 2x Eggs & 1x Mashed fresh banana
Method: Briskly stir the eggs together and mix with the banana. Fry in a little oil/butter as you would  a normal american sized pancake.

Additions: You could add anything really, cocoa powder, peanut butter, berries, oats, spices. I added cinnamon for some autumnal spice and because I really wanted to sample this in all its naked glory. For a show stopper some caramelised bananas in a salted toffee sauce with a little splodge of creme fraiche would be delish!
I think it needs a bit of crunch so I put some chopped apples, drizzled a small glug of maple syrup and added a light dusting of icing sugar for a really light, filling breakie.

Bon Appétit!

Bad hair days

my hairMy friends have the most incredible hair! They roll out of bed with beautiful barnets that appear to hold all day. But, if you’re like me, whose tresses need intense tackling just to survive the daily grind then you will appreciate this super quick do. When it comes to hair I normally shy away from anything more complex than ‘up’ or ‘down’, adventurous to me is throwing in some curls when an extra 5 mins can be scraped from my morning routine so I’ve decided, this hair-slobbery must stop! Above is today’s hairstyle, it took 5 mins and requires a couple of hairbands and some bobby pins – nothing you wont find in between your sofa pillows. And beneath, a source of hairspiration in the form of a pinterest board.
